The operating problem
A meal-kit company needed customer-support capacity that could respond to promotions, delivery disruptions, subscription deadlines, billing questions, and seasonal demand. Staffing permanently for peak volume would leave unused capacity in quieter periods, while recruiting only after a spike would be too slow.
The delivery model
NKCS built a core-and-reserve model. The core team handled regular demand while a separate reserve group was trained in advance on subscription and order processes, delivery issues, billing and account questions, escalation rules, systems, brand voice, and quality expectations. Reserve specialists could be activated when demand rose and use quieter periods for refresher training, quality reviews, documentation, and peak preparation.
The operating result
The model gave the client a prepared way to add support capacity without restarting recruitment and training for every peak. It also helped protect the core team from sudden volume and preserved account knowledge between activations. Client identity and performance figures are omitted until they can be authorised and verified.
